There is no doubt for it. Right now it is getting harder to obtain one way backlinks to your site that the search engines will find acceptable to them, or will not mark down the value of.

This of course means that it could mean millions of webmasters out there, who cannot keep up to date all the most up to date advice and idea’s, who will own websites that may not be obtaining their full benefit they maybe should.

One alternative is to hire a company to undertake SEO work to build your site, but lets ask why should people be being cornered by the search engines and SEM/SEO companies?  It is almost becoming a one man show online nowadays it would seem, and unless you have the money or free up some time, you cannot get your site popular.

One thing is clear.  obtaining more decent links to a website remains vital for the forseeable future.

Even if you do nothing else each day obtain a few links to point at your website.  Always make sure you are up to date with the latest news and do not submit to lots of directories, do not spam blog comments, never be part of automated link exchanges, and do not do high volume reciprocal linking, a few can help, a lot will not.
