One of the most used on the net to rate useful information on another website is to provide your own visitors with a link to that information on the other site. Links are the lifeblood of the internet and the reason we call it it a web or a net. For the search engines such links have three functions: Links assist the spiders from the search engines to index new content and other websites and their content pages. Links to a site and to a specific web page is seen by google as a voting for the quality of a site. the anchor text in the link is seen as describing the relevant content to be found on that website the link is going to. Until recently people usually email other webmasters to ask for an exchange of links, referred to as exchanging reciprocal links. This practise was seen as a mutually rewarding link exchange, a win win situation as both websites will gain from such a two-way link exchange. reciprocal links are still a bit useful seen from a point of direct traffic generation as long as the links to your site are not hidden deep among long strings of links to other websites. Of course, only one way links are very valuable for your website in the google dominated internet virtual world. many varying link exchange programs and tools have been created to automate the process of exchanging links, making it a whole lot easier to create links and to make sure links remain visible. Webmasters can forget they promised to keep. The big problem is that some of these automated link exchanges are automated and are contrary to the search engines rules, and could well get you banned if you use them. We advise to avoid of any of these link schemes, and to only use a reputable link exchange directory
